Coastal Yardworks offers an array of environmentally-friendly landscaping services.
Hydroseeding is a planting and erosion solution. A spray application of slurry - a mixture of water, seed, fertilizer and mulch - is used to assist and promote new vegetation growth and protect the land from erosion.
Coastal Yardworks is proud to offer hydroseeding as a simple and cost-effective solution to improve the health, quality, protection and appearance of your lawn.
The application of hydroseeding is a great alternative to broadcasting, sowing dry seed, laying turf or seeding your lawn by hand. Hydroseeding will result in a higher-quality lawn as it will create a consistent look. The mulch accelerates the growing process by maintaining moisture around the seeds.
Hydroseeding is also often used for erosion control. The healthy spray will establish a strong root system throughout the ground and protect the land from environmental conditions such as rain or sun, which lead to soil and grass loss.
Our team will apply the spray of slurry over the prepared ground area, creating a cover that will begin to improve the soil within the first two weeks of application.
To ensure your new lawn will thrive after hydroseeding, we have prepared a simple set of care instructions for watering, mowing and fertilizing:
It is most important to water your lawn during the initial growth stage. During the first 2.5 weeks your lawn should be watered a minimum of 2-3 times per day for 15-20 minutes. To ensure your lawn grows to its optimal state, it is important not to skip or miss any days and ensure the entire lawn is watered evenly. While watering your lawn is important, it is equally important not to over-water of flood the lawn.
After the initial growth stage, watering can be reduced to 10-15 minutes every 2 to 3 days. After your lawn has been cut, it will only require one inch of water per week.
In approximately 4-6 weeks, our team will do a follow-up application of fertilizer. We will also provide specific fertilizing instructions and recommendations based on your lawn conditions.
Hydroseeding is an economical alternative to traditional methods. Please contact us for a price estimate and we’d be happy to perform an assessment and proposal.
